   The caption on the memorial plack for the Empire Mica propeller now located at Captain Anderson's Restaurant on Panama City Beach Florida reads as follows:  SOLID CAST BRONZE PROPELLER  FROM THE ENGLISH TANKER HMS EMPIRE MICA WAS  SALVAGED BY LOCAL DIVERS FROM THE WATERS OF  CAPE SAN BLAS, NEAR APALACHICOLA. THE TANKER  WAS SENT TO THE BOTTOM OF THE GULF OF MEXICO  BY TORPEDOES FROM A GERNAN SUBMARINE NEAR  MIDNIGHT JUNE 29, 1942, WITH A LOSS OF THIRTY-  THREE LIVES. THE PROPELLER WAS TAKEN BY OTHER  SALVAGE OPERATORS FROM THE ORIGINAL FINDERS,  BUT WAS RETURNED BY THE COURTS AND LATER  PURCHASED BY CAPTAIN ANDERSONS RESTAURANT  TO BE PRESERVED AS A MEMENTO OF WORLD WAR II  ACTION IN THIS AREA.  IT IS EIGHTEEN FEET IN  DIAMETER AND WEIGHS SIXTEEN TONS-THIRTY TWO  THOUSAND POUNDS!  ERECTED NOVEMBER 1983
